The point of having this article create a discussion of religion vs. science shows how stupid and closed-minded a human being can be. This is the main problem of humans they only focus either A or B, there is no C, or D, or E. I don’t see how anything in the article puts the concept of God creating the universe in jeopardy. The article mentions how life could have started from chemistry but we know matter was there always, logic and common sense says it should have started somehow. The Big Bang and any other theory of how life and universe started does not conflict at all with God, only human closed-mindedness and stupidity does. People can choose to be atheist, they may want to believe the sky is pink, and that grass is blue and that water is black, but they will still be blue, green and transparent, respectively. God is there and that is that. Emotions and spiritual feelings do not come out of nowhere and if you want to say that it is caused by inside chemicals it is just ridiculous. The human body responds biologically due or at the time feelings occur but the chemicals in your body do not decide when will you feel happy or sad- circumstances around you will, and they will because you have a soul and a spirit. Evolution and science are totally harmonic to God. Religion? Religion is a way to understand God, some do through Christianity, others through Judaism, others through Islam, etc.
